Idaho Lottery Successfully Completes Terminal Transition Benefiting
Idaho Public Schools and Buildings
BOISE, Idaho, USA (February 21,
2007) -- The Idaho Lottery announced it has
successfully completed its conversion to a new lottery central system and
retailer terminals and as scheduled, began full operations with its new gaming
services provider, INTRALOT.
We are very pleased with
how smoothly the transition occurred, stated
Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery
Director. This has been a tremendous effort by my staff and INTRALOT
to get a great amount of work done on a very limited schedule. My confidence in
the whole process was also affirmed when INTRALOT received
Multi-State Lottery Association (Powerball) certification on the first inspection
with zero discrepancies. This was the first time a lottery vendor scored
100 % on the inspection, added Anderson.
The terminal conversion included the
installation of 950 new INTRALOT Coronis terminals as well as new LED Customer
Service Displays and Player Advertising Displays. The work also included the
installation of a new central operating system at INTRALOTs offices in
Boise that networks all the Lotterys retailers with the Lotterys
headquarters using state-of-the-art high bandwidth satellite
communications.
Our most recent United
States conversion in Idaho was the result of a successful team effort between
INTRALOT and the Idaho Lottery, said Tom Little, INTRALOT USA
President and CEO.
After a lengthy, fair, spirited, and
competitive bid process, the Idaho Lottery entered into the contract on June
28, 2006 with INTRALOT USA, based in Atlanta, Georgia. The change replaced
long-time provider G-Tech, a subsidiary of Lottomatica in Rome, Italy.
The conversion process,
which was handled in a secure and efficient manner, has afforded the Lottery a
valuable opportunity to re-energize our retail partners, explained
Anderson.
Constantinos Antonopoulos, CEO of
INTRALOT S.A. based in Athens, Greece,
the parent company of INTRALOT USA, echoed Andersons sentiments on the
transition.
With the successful system
conversion and launch of the Idaho Lotterys gaming system, INTRALOT
demonstrates its capacity to fulfill its clients high expectations and
needs, said Antonopoulos. We are sure that our partnership
with the Idaho Lottery will be mutually rewarding and as gratifying as it is
with our other U.S. customers.
The new contract is valid for seven
years with an option to extend up to three additional years. The contract and
operations will save the Lottery as much as $12 million over the life of the
award.
The long-term savings for
the Idaho Lottery are very significant, described Anderson.
This new contract means more dollars will be available for
Idahos public schools and buildings in the years ahead.

BC Lottery Corporation Poll Finds Big Differences in How Men and
Women Would Spend Their Millions
RICHMOND, BRITISH
COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 13, 2007) - British Columbia Lottery Corporation
-
Struggling for an original
Valentine's Day gift idea? Why not buy your sweetheart a Millionaire Life
ticket? Purchase before the end of Valentine's Day and they'll also be eligible
for early-bird prizes.
You and your sweetie may both agree
that winning $1 million a year for 25 years would be life-changing, but what
you might disagree on is how you would spend it.
A recent BC Lottery Corporation poll
conducted by Ipsos Reid revealed several major differences in the top-five ways
men and women would allocate $1 Million:
"I would set up a trust to honour
my late husband, Larry. It would definitely involve something to assist sick
children," said Sandi Reynolds, Richmond resident and Lottery player. "I
would also pay off my debts (invest) and pay for my son's grad school. Then, of
course there would a lifetime of manicures and pedicures!"
"I'd send plane tickets to all my
closest friends and family inviting them to an exotic and secluded island
somewhere off the coast of Fiji. If they came, they would be treated to a
weekend of luxury in which I would disclose my winnings and give them a
portion," said Andrew Do, Delta resident. "I'd put whatever's left into
an investment fund for my retirement."

It is also interesting to note that
a very small percentage of people would opt to leave their jobs.
In any event, both players agreed
that a winning Millionaire Life ticket would be a fantastic addition to any
Valentine's Day gift. Tickets purchased before 11:59:59 p.m. PST on Valentine's
Day (February 14, 2007) qualify for a chance to win one of 14 early-bird prizes
of $100,000.
February's Millionaire Life lottery
game offers a grand prize of 1 Million every year for 25 years.
Tickets are available at lottery
retailers. The draw for the early-bird prizes will take place on the evening of
February 28, 2007.
Using Ipsos Reid, BCLC polled a
randomly selected sample of 800 adult British Columbians on the following
question: "If you won a million dollars every year for the next 25 years, what
would you do with it?"
BCLC found some interesting
differences between what men versus women would do with their winnings. All
results are expressed in a percentage of the 800 British Columbian's polled.
The survey also found some
remarkable similarities between the two sexes. A nearly equal number men and
women would use their new found wealth to travel and only a few would quit
their jobs despite winning the Millionaire Life windfall of a million dollars
for the next 25 years.

National Cash and Coin New Self-Service Currency Kiosk Gains Interest
From Gaming Industry
Company Expands, Opens
Offices Throughout Australia and New Zealand in Less than One Year
SYDNEY, NSW, Australia (February 21,
2007) -- National Cash and Coin Pty Ltd., an Australian based currency
equipment organisation, recently added the Cummins-Allison JetCoin
self-service coin redemption centre to its extensive Cummins product range, as
an appealing solution for venues and their customers.
 |
We have received a great
deal of interest from our clients in the hospitality industry, in particular
from a number of the larger retail chains, hotels and clubs throughout
Australia," said Mr Simon Best, General Manager, National Cash and Coin
(NCC).
Gaming venues, whether
casinos, clubs or hotels, need to make a highly informed decision with regard
to their currency equipment, as it affects security, IT, customer loyalty and a
host of other considerations. We have found that a proven product from a
reputable supplier is paramount, and reflects the value of a product as
with the latest product we offer, JetCoin.
A convenient way to receive cash,
the JetCoin kiosks provide an added revenue stream for the retail
provider, with the flexibility to vary the service fees for customers. Chubb
security purchased JetSort, the industrial version for their operations,
having reviewed the retail version with proven 99.9995% accuracy, using the
patented heavy duty mechanism warranted for 10 million coins.
As exclusive agents in
Australia and New Zealand for the internationally recognised Cummins-Allison
range of currency equipment, NCC said that there is an increasing demand for
the products they offer - coin counters, dispensers and sorters, change
machines and note counters, as well as clearance systems.
Indeed, US-based Cummins-Allison,
established in 1887 and renowned worldwide in the banking industry for its
technology, has flagged Australia as an emerging market for its supply of money
handling machines and systems.
As part of their commitment to
National Cash and Coin, senior executives from Cummins-Allison International
division are visiting Australia during February, to conduct seminars with NCC
managers on their full range of products, and to visit key clients.
Karl Gerberick, Cummins
International Sales Manager for Latin American, Asia and Australia, said that
he was impressed with the professionalism of the NCC team, and the future
prospects of the companys products in such a fledgling market.
Were especially
impressed with the uptake of our product, in the short space of one year since
appointing NCC as our distributor. Most people outside the US dont know
that weve been around for more than 100 years. Thanks to the efforts of
NCC to educate current and potential clients, we expect to have major clients
using our Cummins JetCoin - the fastest and most reliable of all Self Service
Centres on the market, explained Mr Gerberick.
The Cummins-Allison products have
been very well received, particularly in the banking sector. Security company
Armaguard has recently re-ordered additional 2 Pocket note sorters, to
compliment the 60 units they purchased last year, and Chubb have purchased some
high-end JetSort coin sorters.
As a result of demand over
the past six months, we have established offices in the various States and
Territories of Australia, as well as New Zealand. This enables us to provide
localised pre-sales knowledge, on-site visits as required, as well as ongoing
technical support and service.
In less than one year, we
are proud to have established ourselves as a national company, with
representation throughout Australia and New Zealand, explained Mr
Best from NCC.
In addition to currency equipment,
NCC also offers a range of solutions from a number of international suppliers,
and ancillary products from other Bank Queuing systems and LED display
signage.

UKTV Gold Scoops Jackpot with EuroMillions Draw and AFP Deal with
Nick Hancock
LONDON, United Kingdom (February 14,
2007) -- UKTV has signed a landmark deal with lottery operator
Camelot to bring
EuroMillions, the National
Lottery game which produced the worlds largest jackpot, to the UKTV
network and a potential audience of 27 million viewers - for the first
time.
From 2nd March 2007, the
EuroMillions draw will broadcast exclusively on UKTV Gold as part of the
channels first advertiser-funded programme (AFP), which is fully funded
by the lottery operator.
Broadcasting every Friday at
10.20pm, the draw will be shown as part of a new entertainment programme
presented by Nick Hancock. Two different entertainment formats have been
commissioned, which will be rotated on a quarterly basis.
The weekly 10 minute show will be
produced by Camelots production partner, Initial (an Endemol company),
and will include the EuroMillions draw from Paris. The draw itself will
continue to be presented by James McCourt (BBC Ones Winning Lines and In
It To Win It) when it moves from its current home on Challenge TV to UKTV
Gold.
Directed by Ian Hamilton and
produced by Debbie Nugent, both formats will be executive produced by
UKTVs Diana Howie alongside Initials Jules Fuller.
EuroMillions is the exciting lottery
game played in nine European countries which last year set a world record for
lottery jackpots hitting £125 million in February 2006. And that
record was almost matched by an 11-week roll series which climaxed in a
£123m jackpot on 17 November 2006.
UKTV Golds channel head James
Newton says, Playing the lottery has become a national institution
much like UKTV Gold and we are thrilled to be the new home of the
EuroMillions draw. Securing the ever-popular Nick Hancock as the face of the
show on Gold makes this deal a genuine double-whammy for us.
This new agreement
potentially until 2012 if Camelots bid to continue operating
The National Lottery after 2009 is
successful was negotiated by UKTVs controller of commercial
partnerships, Claire Heys, and Camelots controller of broadcast, Martyn
Fox.
In addition to exclusive broadcast
of the draw and the AFP show, the new deal will incorporate significant spots
and advertorial advertising campaigns, together with other AFP projects.
EuroMillions draw results will also
be broadcast across UKTVs network of 10 channels from 2 March 2007,
bringing them to viewers of every UKTV channel every week.
Camelots Martyn Fox comments,
Thanks to its massive jackpots, EuroMillions is getting more and more
popular with National Lottery players so its great to be able to bring
the draw to more viewers through UKTV.
Thanks to UKTVs
extensive family of channels and Initials fantastic experience in
producing hit entertainment shows, EuroMillions is set to become a Friday night
fixture for lottery players.
UKTVs Claire Heys adds,
This landmark deal for Gold is the consequence of a long-standing
collaborative partnership with Camelot and is a great endorsement of
UKTVs AFP strategy.
