INTRALOT South Africa, in which INTRALOT S.A. is the majority shareholder, participates in the Gidani Consortium as the second major partner after the South African government, which will participate in the consortium as a 20% equity partner. The rest of the consortium -based upon the local regulations about Black Empowerment- consists of various local entities (i.e. local associations, investment groups, NGOs etc).

Significant emphasis will be placed on raising INTRALOT’s sources of revenues via its subsidiary, by increasing sales through the development and implementation of customized and innovative marketing and promotional programs, on improving the relatively low penetration of the lottery’s current games within the country through the design and introduction of new games and on the expansion and optimization of the sales’ network, etc.

Specifically, INTRALOT will be the main provider of the necessary technology and services for the implementation and support of the overall project.

The project entails the procurement, installation and support of an advanced integrated network which includes an initial installation of 7.626 CORONIS terminals and their peripherals –which will reach 10.626-, the core operating system “LOTOS” and the telecommunications infrastructure for the flawless operation of the network. INTRALOT will also provide all the necessary training on the use of the new terminals, software as well as on client services’ best practices and transactions’ safety to the retailers across the country.

INTRALOT S.A. CEO, Mr. Constantinos Antonopoulos stated: “We are very pleased with this award, not only because we consider it as a further step in our expansion worldwide, but also for the reason that INTRALOT was found to have had the best solution and was chosen over the leading companies in the industry. Our contribution to the operation of the South Africa Lottery is a highly important addition to our international portfolio and we commit to working closely with our Gidani partners to deliver as many benefits and profits to the lottery, INTRALOT, the consortium and the citizens of South Africa”.

MDI’s Major League Baseball is a Grand Slam with Lotteries
At least 10 Additional Lotteries Plan to Offer MLB-Themed Games for the 2007 Season

ALPHARETTA, GA – October 6, 2006 – Tapping in to what is sure to result in strong sales and new players, more than 10 U.S. state Lotteries have signed up to launch Major League Baseball-themed instant games next year with many more considering the game and planning to test it in focus groups.

MDI Dodgers Ticket

MDI Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) announced its agreement with Major League Baseball Properties, Inc. (MLBP) in March 2006. The first MLB-themed game to launch was in Massachusetts on April 11 and featured the Boston Red Sox.

The agreement with MLBP gives MDI the exclusive rights to produce and distribute state lottery tickets featuring the trademarks associated with Major League Baseball including the MLB silhouetted batter logo, the World Series, League Championship Series, Division Series and All-Star Game logos as well as the logos of the Major League Baseball Clubs.

“Major League Baseball is one of the most significant properties MDI has ever offered to lotteries,” said Steve Saferin, MDI president. “For years, lotteries have wanted to run MLB games and promotions and now, it’s a reality. It’s going to be an exciting year.

In Massachusetts, weekly sales of the Red Sox game hit $12 million and maintained a sales rate that was 56 percent above the average during its first 12 weeks. The game offered a grand prize of coveted Red Sox season tickets for life, which is the kind of prize that makes MLB-themed games unique. New York also took advantage of its loyal baseball fan base by running a Subway Series instant ticket featuring the Mets and the Yankees and Maine launched its own Red Sox ticket.

“Baseball fans are passionate about their teams and including an MLB ticket in a line up will give those fans the opportunity to show their affinity while still appealing to core players,” Saferin said. “We are excited to see the lotteries reach this new audience and watch their instant ticket sales climb as a result.

Massachusetts State Lottery Posts 3rd Consecutive Record Year

FY’06 Marks Highest Sales and Local Aid Return in Lottery’s 34-year History

BRAINTREE, Massachusetts, USA (October 6, 2006) -- State Treasurer Tim Cahill today announced that the Massachusetts State Lottery posted record-breaking sales and local aid figures for Fiscal Year 2006. This marks the third consecutive year that the Lottery generated record numbers in these areas.

The Lottery returned a remarkable $951.2 million in local aid to the Commonwealth - the largest amount ever returned for cities and towns in the 34-year history of the Lottery.  Sales for FY06 climbed to $4.52 billion, an increase of more than $41.2 million over last year’s record revenues.

“The Lottery’s continued prosperity is a direct reflection of the organization’s dedication to operating as an efficient and effective enterprise and commitment to maximizing revenues available for the Commonwealth’s 351 cities and towns,” said Treasurer Cahill, who chairs the Lottery Commission. “Each record year, brings more local aid to municipalities and helps to improve the overall quality of life in our communities.

At $951.2 million, the Lottery’s net profit to the state increased by more than $15.1 million from $936 million in FY05. The amount of Lottery local aid distributed directly to municipalities in FY06 was capped by the Legislature at $761,378,162, with the remaining revenues used to offset other state budgetary obligations. The Legislature agreed to lift the cap, originally imposed in 2003, this fiscal year which will send historic levels of Lottery local aid to cities and towns in FY07.

“While we paid out prizes totaling three billion plus dollars to our players last fiscal year, the biggest winners were the municipalities of Massachusetts, which received record levels of Lottery local aid,” said Joe Sullivan, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery.

FY06 marked another banner year for the Lottery’s instant ticket portfolio as sales accounted for $3.115 billion or 69 percent of the Lottery’s overall revenues. The Lottery’s $10 games - $800 Million Spectacular and Set for Life, as well as the introduction of the first-of-its-kind $5 Red Sox Instant Ticket, helped maintain the Massachusetts Lottery’s standing as a nationwide leader in instant ticket sales.

With four jackpots that soared over the $250 million mark, Mega Millions - the Lottery’s sole multi-state game - experienced “mega” success in FY06. The excitement around Mega Millions’ multi-million jackpots helped propel sales from $97 million in FY05 to $134.7 million in FY06 – representing a whopping 38.8 percent increase over last year.

The Lottery’s in-state online games also saw much success in FY06. Keno benefited greatly from the addition of a multiplier feature in December 2005. “Keno Bonus” boosted the game’s already strong sales to $775.2 million in FY06, a 4.5 percent increase over last year.

In its first full fiscal year of sales, CASH WinFall registered $47 million in FY06. The popular $2 game, which was introduced in September 2004, contributed $41.8 million in sales for the 10 months it was available in FY05.

The Lottery’s other online game also posted robust sales. The Numbers Game turned in sales of $342.5 million, and Mass Cash and Megabucks followed with $42.6 million and $42.1 million, respectively.

Reliability is One Of Veikkaus' Values

Article by: Ilkka Juva, Communications Director, Veikkaus Oy

VEIKKAUS, Finland (October 9, 2006) -- Veikkaus' game system processes nearly 3,000 gaming transactions per minute at the maximum. Over a million prizes are paid out every week. The usability of the system amounts to 99.98 percent, which means that the interruptions of use only take slightly more than a minute per week.

The system is absolutely reliable and functional measured against any standards. And when something exceptional still occurs, it is soon noticed. With many players and a large number of transactions, even the slightest problems concern several players.

Veikkaus' game system has had a few individual problems over the past few weeks that have affected gaming. It is understandable that we have been criticized for this. All the feedback we have received tells us, above all, that people are interested in what we do and that our customers are used to high-standard service.

As regards technical know-how, Veikkaus' is in the vanguard of the lotteries of the world. And we will work to keep this position even in the future. That is why our game system is being constantly updated and the entire system will be reformed soon. We know that large technical reforms can only rarely be carried out completely without problems in the lottery business, as in any other field of activity. However, the outcome of the reform will definitely enhance our services and represent the reliability our company values require.
