Steve Kraske. 2 months, 2 weeks ago Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback today named
former Johnson County state Sen. Dennis Wilson as executive director of the
Kansas Lottery. Wilson, who also is a former Johnson County treasurer, is a
partner and owner of New Century Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep in Paola and works for
Freedom Bank in Overland Park. As a Johnson County businessmen and
former elected official, Dennis Wilsons experience in both the private
and public sectors brings an important understanding of job creation and
efficient government, Brownback said. I am pleased he has
agreed to once again work on behalf of our great state. Wilson
began his business career in the retail automotive business in 1968 and went on
to be a highly-successful owner/operator or investor in six new car franchise
dealerships in the Kansas City area. He served in the Kansas House of
Representatives from 1995 1999 before working in the Kansas
Treasurers Office as Director of Unclaimed Properties for two years.
He then was elected Johnson County Treasurer from 2001 to 2005 and then as
State Senator for the 37th District from 2005 to 2009. |
