Australia Day Honours for Lotterywest CEO Jan Stewart
OSBORNE PARK, Western Australia (January 29, 2009) -- Lotterywest CEO Jan Stewart has been recognised for her outstanding service to Western Australia, being awarded a Public Service Medal at this week’s Australia Day celebrations.
There is a long tradition in Commonwealth nations of recognising employees for outstanding public service and these days this recognition is acknowledged through the presentation of Public Service Medals on Australia Day.
Australia Day on the 26th January is the official national day of Australia commemorating the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.  It is a national holiday that is widely celebrated across the country in an opportunity to share and honour our national community.
In Western Australia, various Australia Day celebrations are held in each town, suburb and city with the day culminating in a spectacular fireworks display in the state’s capital of which Lotterywest is a major supporter.
Above the personal acknowledgement, this Medal is testament to Lotterywest’s success and the significant role it plays in supporting the WA community and contributing to the quality of life in our state.” said Jan Stewart of her Medal recognition.
On behalf of the Lotterywest Board of Commissioners, Chairman Clyde Bevan added how pleased and proud he is of the quality work Lotterywest produces and in particular Jan’s commitment and dedication.
