licence fees (Konzessionsabgabe) or directly to good causes as return for a
purpose (Zweckertrag). The beneficiaries are mainly sports and charitable
organisations, fine arts and cultural organisations, architectural conservation
and environmental protection projects. |

Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH & Co. OHG was created
in 1955 under the name of "NordwestLotto in Nordrhein-Westfalen". It
participated in the first draw of Lotto 6/49 on October 9, 1955. Besides
lotteries WestLotto offers sports betting products and instant games.
Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH & Co. OHG (WestLotto) is a member of the
German Lotto Bloc ("Deutscher Lotto- und Totoblock") which consists of 16 State
Lotteries, one in each of the states ("Länder") in the Federal Republic of
Germany.
The sales network of WestLotto is confined to the territory of
North Rhine-Westphalia. The distribution network of WestLotto comprises 37
districts with approximately 3,900 points of sale - mainly retailers of
newspapers and tobacco - who sell lottery products on a commission
basis.
