In 1887 Tattersall's became the official Tasmanian
lottery when the Government invited George Adams (Founder of Tattersalls) to
run a lottery, with the properties of a failed bank as prizes. Today
Tattersall's is the Victorian Government's third biggest source of revenue.
Tattersall's Gaming Pty Ltd holds a license to own and operate gaming machines
in Victoria, and holds a license to monitor gaming machines in
Queensland Tattersall's was the first operator in the world to offer lottery
by phone.
