Lotto Draw Creates 26
Millionaires SYDNEY, Australia (December 28, 2003) --
Lotto's $30 million draw on Saturday night made 26 people around the country
millionaires. Among the winners were five people from NSW, one from the
ACT, 10 from Victoria, four from Queensland and two each from South Australia,
Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Each of the winners will receive
$1,153,846. However, five of the six winners in NSW and the ACT were
unregistered and NSW Lotteries is asking everyone with an entry in last night's
draw to check their ticket carefully. Mohan Sekaram, the owner of the
Macquarie Fields Newsagency in south-western Sydney, where one of the winning
tickets was sold, said he wished he knew which of his customers had the winning
ticket. "This is our biggest win since buying the shop 20 months ago," he said.
"We were snowed under yesterday with selling entries so I just concentrated on
serving customers, now I wish I could work out which one of them has the ticket
worth over a million." SOURCE: AAP
